8th Grade Curriculum

Eight grade is the last year of middle school and the focus shifts to preparing for high school. Grade 8 students should continue to increase the complexity of texts they read and what they write, citing text evidence. 8th graders may cover math concepts such as linear equations, volume, functions, and the Pythagorean Theorem. Social Studies and Science skills will vary according to location, building upon what they have previously learned. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt invites you to explore the wealth of information about eighth-grade curriculum.
