4th Grade Curriculum

Fourth grade is the launching pad for the middle grades and should begin thinking deeper to help analyze and interpret what they are learning. Grade 4 students should analyze what they read and connect it across multiple texts, while their writing should be more organized with clarity and structure. 4th graders will begin to master computational skills in math, working with larger numbers and increasing their speed and accuracy. In Social studies students delve into local and American history and compare perspectives form primary and secondary texts. Science will see students conduct experiments and may investigate topics such as Earth, space, electricity, and magnetism.
